Keeping in view the shortage of skills in the procurement area, GPCL conducts various training programmes for professionals/Govt. officials engaged in the field of procurement for capacity building. GPCL has partnered with Administrative Staff College of India (ASCI) since the year 2007 in conducting several tailor made international training programs on procurement procedures under the World Bank aided projects for capacity building of the procurement personnel. In a year, at least three such training programmes are held. Participants include representatives from Borrowers / Executing Agencies of World Bank funded projects / programs drawn from several developing countries / emerging economies.
GPCL in association with the World Bank conducted training to Internal Auditors on “Review of Procurement and Contracting” and use of associated tools.
Similarly, GPCL conducted a training on “International Good Practices on Procurement of Goods, Works, Services and Consulting Services” for Exim Bank’s staff in the context of revised guidelines of the Govt. of India on Lines Of Credit extended through Exim Bank.
GPCL conducted training on Public Procurement in the context of Technical Assistance being provided to Ministry of Urban Development, India on Smart Cities Project in collaboration with Asian Development Bank.
In addition to above, GPCL conducts training programmes for various project authorities after procurement audit/review assignments in order to strengthen the skills of the procurement staff.
